New book coordinated by coordinado Sandra Caponi, Marcia da Silva Mazon, Eugenia Bianchi and Javier Marzal: "Loucura, gênero e saúde mental: violências epistêmicas e estratègies de despatologização" (2026).

Abstract:

Madness, gender and mental health: epistemic violence and depathologization strategies", organized by Sandra Caponi, Marcia da Silva Mazon, Eugenia Bianchi and Javier Marzal, and published by Editorial LiberArs, brings together and prolongs a series of debates that have been woven, in recent years, at the intersection between gender and mental health, in a constant dialogue between Latin America and Europe. It is not simply a compilation of works presented in two academic events, but an effort to build a critical, situated and necessarily collective field of research that questions contemporary forms of psychic suffering and the institutional responses offered to it, from a gender, decolonial and human rights perspective. The volume presented here is therefore the result and continuity of a shared journey that includes research networks, personal trajectories and knowledge policies that intersect from both sides of the Atlantic.
