Rovira i Virgili University and Unimontes renew and update academic mobility agreement
The State University of Montes Claros (Unimontes, Brasil) and the Rovira i Virgili University (URV), Spain, signed a new specific academic mobility agreement, which updates and reaffirms the institutional cooperation between both universities.
This agreement replaces and continues the previous agreement, in force during the 2020-2024 period, strengthening an already consolidated academic relationship and renewing the commitments to international collaboration in the areas of teaching, research, and human resources training.
The new agreement establishes the foundations for the mobility of teaching and research staff, technical-administrative staff, and graduate students, promoting academic and scientific exchange, the development of joint activities, and the strengthening of international research networks.
Regarding staff mobility, the agreement provides, for academic year, for the exchange of up to two lecturers/researchers and two technical-administrative professionals in each direction, seeking a balance of institutional flows. The activities carried out during the stay must be directly linked to the academic or administrative functions of the participants.
Student mobility is aimed at strategic graduate programs (master's and doctoral degrees) of both institutions, including areas such as Health Sciences, Medical Anthropology and Health, Social Development, Anthropology, and Communication, with stays that may last up to six months per student, in accordance with the provisions set out in the annex to the agreement.
The agreement also defines criteria for participant selection, academic supervision, recognition of studies, access to university services, and requirements related to health coverage and civil liability insurance during the mobility period.
With an initial term of four years, renewable through addenda, this new agreement renews and consolidates the strategic alliance between Unimontes and URV, reaffirm both institutions' commitment to the internationalization of higher education, scientific cooperation, and the international circulation of knowledge.
