Ethics and research on assisted reproduction
María Isabel Jociles presented her experience with bioethics committees in conducting research on assisted reproduction with the intervention of third parties, such as surrogate mothers, in the fourth session of the seminar on ethics and anthropology.
The presentation addressed topics such as how to proceed with data protection in the case of the use of qualitative research techniques, how to deal with parents' precautions against the participation of their children in ethnographic research, among other aspects.
It also reflected the role of bioethics committees in the design of ethnographic research, as well as the diversity of opinions that can arise between committees and researchers.
